Video: The Surprising Math Behind Cities and Corporations

Here’s Santa Fe Institue’s Geoffrey West giving a TED talk about how the size of cities (and corporations) is not only scalable, but scarily predictable.  Even crazier? If you give them some detail on a city, (such as, the number of gas stations or how many steps per minute the average resident takes) they can tell you how many people live in that city.
